Cartier Américaine
Just 4 years after the Tank's debut in 1917, Cartier came out with the Cintree (it means 'curved' en francais). This put the Parisian public's flamboyance to the test as wristwatches were only just starting to gain popularity and they were usually tiny, round conservative things. Think of all the swooning 1920's women littering the streets of France just at the sight of this thing.
For me, this emphasises what trailblazers of design Cartier are. These are truly timeless pieces that have been worn and wanted by just about every generation since.
Back to this example, the Cintree gave birth to the Américaine, as Cartier decided to adjust the features to be more 'Americanized'. Predominantly making it chunkier and in 3 different sizes.
This medium-sized model is a great way to get into Cartier's collection as a lot of men nowadays feel the traditional designs wear too small on the wrist. This slightly more robust model is right at home in the 20s once more.

During lockdown, we're offering free postage within the UK. If you're looking to purchase from outside the UK please contact us to see what we can do.
In order to be as sustainable as possible, we pack each individual item in repurposed packaging, whether it be a vintage cigar box or wrapped in our local tailor's offcuts. We encourage you to reuse our boxes however you wish or return them to us to use again.
Returns Policy
We offer a 2 day no questions asked return period, the buyer just has to pay the postage.
Other than that we have a standard 30-day return policy should there be pre-existing issues. All items must be returned in the same condition as when they were sold and we inspect the item upon receipt.
