"Altea is above all a textile brand,"
A firm and clear statement from the Milanese company, but one that reflects their whole ethos. Simple, succinct and to the point. A textile company that prides itself in quality above all else.
As you'd expect this dedication to craft doesn't come cheap but in line with our mission statement we've got ourselves 2 beauts for you at a fraction of the retail cost.
Altea dates back to the late 19th century and is named after the perennially blossoming flower,
There was bit of an economic boom around Milan at the time which attracted a lot of the industrial honchos and bigwigs; and what do bigwigs need? ....big..erm..wigs; But also cravats, blouses, all that good stuff. This demand led to Altea being among the finest establishment for the local gentry.
Fast forward all those decades and the company's focus has shifted towards men & women's ready to wear fashion. However, one principle remains from their early textile beginnings, and that's quality in make and material.
The first thing you notice on each item is the rich deep hue. It's something that is often overlooked with lesser-made garments as it can't be easily replicated and gives the viewer an almost subliminal understanding of quality.
The deep-navy chore jacket's cut is something else. It's contemporaries normally give you a boxy, unfitted silhouette; but this has been carefully sculpted around the body and you can see by the stitching here there's been a carefully considered blueprint to its shape.
Typical of Italian design this jacket has that 'wear it and forget about it' spirit.
The burnt rust mirco-courduroy shirt is a little more risqué it its aesthetic but don't be fooled by it's vibrant colour and asymmetric pockets. There's a heft to the shirt that makes it ideal if you want to add a bit of a statement to a cold day's outfit.
With these retail new at £400 and £200 respectively, we have them at a quarter of the price and in incredible condition. I'm sure they won't be around long so act fast. If you have any
